Chair of Trustees

In September 2021, All We Can and Y Care International began a formal partnership – combining efforts to tackle poverty, inequality and injustice in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.

This new partnership has warranted creative thinking about our governance structure. Two boards, meeting together at one meeting overseeing both entities, have been formed by combining all current All We Can Trustees with three representatives of the YMCA movement. President and Co-founder of Y Care International, Terry Waite, remains a Trustee and President for Y Care International going forward.

This is a critical and exciting time to chair All We Can and Y Care International, as together we continue to partner withour global neighbours most impacted by disasters, poverty and injustice to enable flourishing and resilient communities.

About you: We are seeking a leader of integrity, with strong interpersonal skills, who is empathetic and able to listen reflectively and lead the Board with insight and inclusivity.

Do you share our commitment to partnership with talented change-makers rooted in local communities and our drive to fearlessly challenge poverty, inequality and injustice?

Are you knowledgeable about the type of work undertaken by All We Can and Y Care and committed to the decolonisation of aid and a sustainable partnership approach?

Are you open and willing to lead in an organisational context that operates on a Christian faith basis, upon which both charities are founded?

The role: The term of appointment is three years, with the possibility of renewing this three-year commitment once by mutual agreement. Board membership is not a remunerated position, and the Chair is expected to give a time commitment of approximately 20 days per annum.

Board meetings are usually held four times a year, three of which are half days and one of which is an overnight residential meeting.

Head of Operations & Resources (Finance & Resources Team)

Location: Central London (with hybrid/home-based working).
Please note that in response to Covid-19, most staff are currently working from home until the end of the year, with core staff working reduced hours in office as required. A return to a new office in early 2022 will be subject to review and assessment nearer the time.

Job Summary: We’re looking for a Head of Operations & Resources to be responsible for our daily operations and. This is a new role and you will have oversight and responsibility of our daily operations, ensuring that our infrastructure, systems and processes all work smoothly and enable us to work effectively towards our vision and operations plans. You will act as a champion for our positive team culture, model inclusion and equality, and will support the Senior Leadership team and managers, allowing the organisation to thrive and develop as we transition into the next chapter of our exciting journey. You will help to develop, motivate and retain the team at our organisation through your oversight of all Human Resources related activities, safety, operational function including the technology and tools we need to do our job effectively and the data we hold and process. You will also ensure efficient operation in our daily financial processes, working closely with the finance team.

You will be a highly relational, proactive, self-starting leader who shares our commitment to helping people living in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities, by ending the suffering caused by disasters, poverty and injustice. We want you to be comfortable with our faith-based values and relate warmly and professionally to a wide range of networks, cultures and organisations.

You will be entrusted with key decision-making and contract management with service providers. You’ll work with the whole staff team, as part of the Finance and Resources Team. You’ll have relevant experience of operational, financial and people management and processes, and show a journey of professional development and learning. You will be an articulate communicator with an ability to share and embed strategy into operational function and understanding. You will have the unique opportunity to understand and be part of the work and impact of two great charities working together as one operational organisation.

Digital Marketing Officer (Public Engagement Team)

Location: London/Flexible home-based working. Please note that in response to Covid-19, All We Can staff are currently working from home and a return to the office in Spring 2022 will be subject to review and assessment nearer the time.

Job Summary: Do you have a flair for all things digital? Are you passionate about the potential of digital to create vibrant, engaged communities? Are you keen to use your skills to help people facing poverty and inequality across the world?

All We Can and Y Care International are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious Digital Marketing Officer to help us elevate our offering across a variety of digital channels.  As a member of a small but dynamic team, you’ll relish getting stuck in to a wide variety of projects, and be happy to support colleagues from across the organisation with a range of digital projects.
