Ben is founding Partner of Minerva, the leadership services and executive search firm. He has around twenty years’ experience working with clients in the cultural, educational and third sectors.

Brian Murtagh is YMCA Ireland Development Officer for the Greater Dublin area where he manages Family Support Programmes and Mentoring programmes across Dublin.

Dr. Chenai Gondo


Chenai a Strategy Executive at British Land. Prior to this, she was a management consultant at McKinsey and Company, where she gained several years of experience advising the top teams of some of the world’s largest organisations across multiple regions and industries. Chenai was born and raised in Zimbabwe.

Grace Conacher


Grace Conacher spent the majority of her working career with the British Council, working in many different capacities in the UK and overseas.

James Holian


James joined RBS in 2008 to lead the strategic re positioning of the Global Banking & Markets business in response to the financial crisis. Since this time, James has held a number of different senior management and corporate client-facing roles across the bank. James is also the Chair of the YCI Finance Committee.

Kerry Reilly


Kerry was appointed Chief Executive of YMCA Scotland in January 2015. She has worked locally, nationally and internationally in the YMCA movement for over 22 years. She also worked for the International Development Education Association Scotland (IDEAS) between 2006-2007.

Michaela Kelly


Michaela joined the Board in 2015. She is currently a member of our International Programmes Committee. In her professional life, she is currently Project Director, Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust at Sightsavers and was previously Head of Programmes Delivery Unit at Plan UK.

Peter Liu


Peter is the Asia Pacific Chief Financial Officer at KKR. He has held various senior positions within the financial services sector for over 23 years covering the UK, Asia, USA and Europe.

Stephen Riad


Stephen has over twenty years of Executive Management experience within the Advertising and Digital Media industries. He has led Sales and Strategy teams across Asia Pacific, Europe and more recently on Global scale. He currently works at Google as Director of the Inbound Global Sales team, working with small and medium businesses on Google’s advertising products.

Tim Fallon


Tim is currently on the board of trustees YMCA North London after many years working with Housing Associations such as Stonham, and Christian registered social landlords (RSLs) such as St Christopher’s Fellowship, Chapter 1 and most recently as CEO of Livability Housing. Tim is also YCI’s Safeguarding Lead.

As Chief Executive of Y Care International I am accountable to the Board of Trustees for growing Y Care’s impact, leading and managing the organisation in seeking to enable more marginalised young people to move out of poverty and in to business

Harriet Knox

Director of International Programmes

I oversee Y Care’s global programmes and partnerships with YMCAs and other youth-focused organisations who share our commitment to empowering vulnerable young women and men to lift themselves out of poverty through decent, meaningful work. I am also the Designated Safeguarding Lead, supporting Y Care’s team and our partner organisations in the global south to monitor and strengthen policy and practice.

Malcolm Lloyd

Director of Finance and Resources

I am responsible for finance, premises, IT and HR administration. I support YCI’s Treasurer, Board and sub-committees, our CEO and Senior Management team and budget-holders with financial, compliance and risk management information.

Jacqueline Rodriguez

International Programmes Coordinator

In my role with Y Care International I coordinate projects in Asia, Latin America and the Middle East, I also provide support to the local partners ensuring the effective and efficient implementation of projects.

Nathalie Thomas

International Programmes – Senior Youth Livelihoods Coordinator

My role at Y Care International is to support Y Care International and our partners to strengthen the design, delivery and impact of youth livelihoods (employment and enterprise) programmes, provide technical input and coordination support to the global Community of Impact in Youth Employment launched by the World Alliance, and build YCI’s profile as a thought-leader in the youth livelihoods sector.

As International Programmes Coordinator, I manage a portfolio of projects located in East Africa and provide support to our local partners to help them build their capacity and ensure an efficient project implementation.

I am responsible for providing continuous support for the International Programme Development team’s fundraising capacity and approaching institutional donors.

Regional Programmes Manager

I manage Y Care International’s programmes across the world, supporting team members and partners to design, implement, monitor and evaluate programmes for vulnerable young people.

Sonia Duckett

Senior Database Coordinator

I am responsible for managing the Fundraising Department’s database. I support the fundraising department with income and campaign reporting and provide training and support for all users of the database.

Sam Lishak

Senior Trusts & Foundations Coordinator

I co-ordinate applications to Trusts and Foundations to complement our work funded by institutions, as well as bespoke projects.

I am responsible for processing donations that we receive from our individual supporters, thanking them for their support and assisting with any queries they might have.

I am the Private Secretary for the Director of the Wellcome Trust and specifically work to improve communications and strategy across the organisation and externally. My interest in helping Y Care International originates from going to Bangladesh with them on the ICS programme.

I applied to join the Youth Engagement Panel this year in order to gain a better understanding of how an International NGO works, and how young people such as myself can work with them in order to create positive change within their communities.

In 2017 I volunteered with Y Care International on the International Citizen Service programme. This allowed me to experience the beautiful country of Sierra Leone, meet so many incredible people, as well as learn about development and the YMCA movement.

I volunteered with Y Care International in Togo in 2017. After returning to the UK I wanted to learn more about how a charity works which is why I chose to be a part of the panel. I am also a vet student and in the future I hope to become more involved with charity work both inside and outside of my profession.
