In 2017, as part of our International Citizen Service, young people from the UK and Sierra Leone undertook youth-led research on education and work. Over a six week period the young people will reach out to young people in areas affected by Ebola using methods such as interviews, focus groups, case study collection and surveys.
This report focusses on the barriers to and the support services in place for starting up and maintaining youth-led businesses in Makeni and how do young people in Kenema with limited education gain access to jobs or employment.
The report has been written by the young people and reflects their experience of undertaking the research; their key findings and recommendations for action.
