Enhancing support and protection to street children and young people in Lusaka, Zambia

Poverty, parental negligence and abuse force children and young people to live on the streets of Lusaka, Zambia.

Between 2011 and 2015, Y Care International supported the YMCA of Zambia to implement a project enhancing protection for children and young people living and working on the streets of Lusaka, Zambia. The project aimed to improve children and young people’s access to education, vocational training, care and essential support services; and build the capacity of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to address the needs of children and young people on the streets.

The project was evaluated in March 2015 and key findings, learnings and recommendations are summarised in this publication.
