Empowering young women to increase their economic opportunities and participation in decision making in the ‘Seam Zones’ of the West Bank

Young women in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT) often find themselves economically and socially marginalised due to cultural barriers and the wider socio-political context of the Israeli occupation.

Between 2012-2015, Y Care International supported the East Jerusalem YMCA (EJYMCA) Women’s Training Programme to implement a project focusing on young women’s access to enterprise, employment and participation in decision making across six locations in the Seam Zones of the West Bank.

The project was evaluated in April 2015 and key findings and recommendations are summarised in this publication.
