Y Care International has launched a consultation to inform the design and development of our work in the UK and Ireland. We want to hear from young people, staff and volunteers from across the YMCA movement on how we can best engage young people in global issues and inspire them to take action. We have a special survey for young people who have previously volunteered overseas with our YMCA partners through the International Citizen Service.
We want to hear from you about:
How we can engage young people on global issues
How we can best work with staff and volunteers from YMCAs
How youth volunteering opportunities can be improved
Coinciding with the consultation is a unique opportunity for young people aged 18-25 to join our Youth Engagement Panel.
As a young leader from the YMCA movement or a Y Care International ICS Alumni, we are recruiting a group of young people with an interest in global issues. They will advise and lend expertise to Y Care on the design and development of our new UK programme of work based on feedback gathered through the consultation. Learn more about current Youth Engagement Panel members.
In the next 12 months, panelists will support Y Care International in developing a proposal for a future international volunteering programme that offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to young people in the UK to work with YMCA’s in the Global South. They will advise the wider organisation and Board of Trustees as we approach the development of our next strategy, which will enhance our work in creating opportunities for young people to lift themselves out of poverty.
Any young person aged 18-25 who has connected within the YMCA movement or worked with Y Care Internationals International Citizen Service can apply by completing an application form or by submitting a video application. Full details on how to apply are in our Youth Engagement Panel Application Pack.
