Breakfast Briefing: Don’t think big, think micro

Y Care International usually promotes big idea thinking. But when it comes to helping young people into work and out of poverty, thinking on a micro level is key.

On Wednesday 23rd January, Y Care International presented a breakfast briefing at Natwest that outlined how micro-financing is empowering young people economically and creating sustainable change in some of the world’s poorest communities.

Speakers included:

Tanmay Chetan – Co-founder and Managing Partners, Agora Microfinance Partners LLP

Rehana Merali – Regional Programme Manager, Y Care International

The morning included talks and a Q&A session, giving attendees the chance to explore the intricacies of micro-finance and how Y Care International supports access to transformative finance opportunities in some of the world’s poorest countries. We discussed the challenges that come with micro-finance and how together, we can ensure that every young person is given the opportunity to change their own and others’ lives through decent work. Into work. And out of poverty.
