Do you want to volunteer overseas to bring about positive change while gaining new skills and experiences?
Y Care International offers you the chance to volunteer on International Citizen Service (ICS) and make a difference in some of the world’s poorest communities.
With us, you will spend 10-12 weeks working together with young volunteers from the local community on development projects to improve the lives of vulnerable young people. You’ll be joining projects that are already making a difference and your contribution will have a real long term impact.
When you are back in the UK, we will help you to complete a project in your home community to raise awareness of global poverty and inspire a new generation to help join our fight for a fairer and just world.
If you volunteer with Y Care International you’ll also be joining a global youth movement that believes young people have the power to make changes in their local communities and to big global challenges.
You don’t need cash, skills or qualifications to take part in ICS – just the ambition to make a difference. As a UK Government funded programme which wants to bring together young people, all your costs will be covered. Everyone must fundraise before they go but we will give you lots of expert advice and tips to help!
Y Care International ICS placements depart throughout the year. Anyone aged 18-25 is welcome to apply. If you’re over 23 years old and have experience of working with young people, you can apply to be one of our Team Leaders
If you have any questions, email: firstname.lastname@example.org
ICS is funded by the Department for International Development (DFID) and is an investment in young people by the UK government. ICS is led by VSO in partnership with respected development organisations that work to agreed quality principles and standards. Y Care International is one of the agencies delivering ICS overseas.
By August 2015 ICS will create 7000 active citizens in the UK and 7000 in the developing countries where we work.
