Campaign launched in South Africa

The South African launch of the Youth Justice in Action campaign took place on 19 July 2006 at Sakhithemba Halfway House, the ex offenders project supported by Y Care International.

Y Care International’s Chief Executive, Chris Roles, opened the event by outlining some of the injustices faced by young people across the world. The campaign’s international partners then made their commitments to challenging those injustices. This was followed by food and entertainment, including an outstanding music and dance performance by Amanzimtoti YMCA.

The event was an excellent way of marking the start of what promises to be a youthful and collaborative international campaign.
