Y Care International and The Co-operative Bank join forces on affinity charity credit card

14 November 2003

Y Care International and The Co-operative Bank have come together to launch a Visa card to boost the charity’s funds as part of its 20th anniversary year, 2004.

The scheme – a first for Y Care International – includes two platinum cards and a standard credit card. The Co-operative Bank pays Y Care International £5 for every account opened, then an extra £10 for each card used within six months. After that it donates 25 pence for every £100 spent.

Y Care International’s President, Terry Waite CBE, said: “This is a wonderful partnership for our 20th anniversary year. It will help to provide us with valuable funds for our projects, now and in the future.”

The Co-operative Bank’s Sian Ralph said: “With affinity cards like this everyone’s a winner. The charity earns much needed funds, the bank gains new customers and the cardholder has the satisfaction of supporting Y Care International at no cost to themselves.”
