Supporting street children
We've been supporting children who live on the streets of Chiang Mai.
Since the Asian financial crisis in 1997, Thailand's economic growth has recovered steadily but suffered a severe set-back after the December 2004 Tsunami, which killed more than 6,000 people in the country.

Thailand's extensive sex industry has contributed to increasing rates of HIV and AIDS across the country and the impact of this presents a major challenge for the country's development.
The YMCA has been present in Thailand since 1930, and there are now two local YMCA associations in the country. Y Care International has been working in Thailand since 1984, and we work in partnership with Chiang Mai YMCA who are implementing a project that supports children who live and work on the streets.
