Seed Funding update
10 September 2009
From 3-7 August, young people from West London YMCA came together for a week of song writing with a global aim – to get young people noticed for their positive contributions to society.
The song, entitled 'Notice Me', is the product of online discussions between young people in the UK and Estonia about how they are perceived and demonstrates a common feeling of being marginalised or ignored.
The project, which is supported by Y Care International's Seed Funding Programme, involved young people from West London YMCA running sessions that explored the global influences on the music that young people listen to and how music can be used to express how they feel about issues that are important to them.
The two groups will come together this Autumn for a series of concerts which will feature joint performances of their newest track. The young people also hope to distribute CDs of their work.
