Youth Justice In Action

On Thursday 14 May, young people from YMCAs across the UK will be marching on Parliament as part of the Youth Justice in Action campaign.

They will be asking three things of Ministers and Members of Parliament (MPs):

• Dignity: To ask MPs to pledge to speak respectfully about young people, particularly during a general election campaign
• Respect: To ask MPs to implement the UN Human Rights Council resolution to provide educational and rehabilitation programmes for young people caught up in the criminal justice system
• Justice: To ask MPs to take action to reduce the number of young people in prison – reducing overcrowding in prison and ensuring custody is only used a last resort
